Is Jeff Scott Soto Camera Shy? / Interview

Hmmm, I would think not; he just got caught with his pants do….well not really, he just got caught wearing no pants at all. In fact he was wearing Snoopy pajamas when we chatted on Tuesday.

As per a minor mix up the voice that drove Yngwie Malmsteen to success was under the impression it was just an audio interview………….oh well; c’est la vie.

Aside from being the lead singer when Wingy got started, Jeff has carved out a nice career singing in bands such as Journey, Soto, Sons of Apollo, and Trans Siberian Orchestra.

I spoke with Jeff about his new solo album Duets Volume I which is dynamite and it pits two men together in each of the 11 songs on the album singing back and forth.

To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to think when I was sent the press release. I was wondering; two dudes singing duets? Hmmmm

Anyway, it is nothing less than hard rock with great vocals throughout. On this journey Jeff recruits, Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Howie Simon (guitar), BJ (Soto/Spektra), Nathan James (Inglorious), Dean Castronova (Revolution Saints/Journey), Russell Allen( Symphony X), and many many more.

This is just a sample of the brilliance on the album with Eric Martin and Jeff singing together.

Aside from chatting about the great album we talked about his fondness for Canada and his favorite artists and one I need to get a hold of as his name keeps popping up; Devin Townsend !
