Hounds 2 Entertain #2 Team In the League

The Soo Greyhounds who sit at #2 in points in the OHL are set to host the Saginaw Spirit tonight at the Memorial Gardens.

Both teams are behind the London Knights who have started on a tear of 8-0.

Starting the season about a week later or so than most other teams; the Spirit have only played 6 games to the Hounds 11; have gone 4-1-1 during that time and have a winning percentage of .750 and that is why the title states they are second.

Tale of the Tape

Saginaw Spirit

Saginaw was 6-1-0-0 against the Hounds during the 2019-20 season but that surely will not matter as lineups have been scrambled and do not resemble the previous season. Upfront Matyas Sapovaliv leads the team in scoring with an average of over a point a game with 7 in 6 while Josh Bloom equals with 6 points in 6 games. Making a return to the Soo will also be Camryn Baber. In net Tristan Lennox leads with a GAA of just 2.52 in four games while his counterpart Andrew Oak is just as good with a GAA of just 2.76. Either way the Hounds will have their paws pull.

The Hounds have three of the top point leaders in the league right now and will be a factor. Tye Kartye and

Cole MacKay have 17 points and behind them with 16 is Rory Kerins.

The Hounds sit at 3.8% on the Power Play and the Spirit are number 1 and Penalty Killing so it should be an interesting night.

If you can’t make it to the game, head down to The Canuck for your game night grub and watch the game. If you can’t make it out, use Skip the Dishes.
