Toms Propels Hounds to 6th Straight Win/Update on Tanner Dickinson

The Soo Greyhounds won their 6th straight game last night in Flint 6-3. With some big saves early on by starter Tucker Tynan, the Hounds dominated the play for the most part of the game.
Hounds forward Connor Toms was a star with 2 goals and a scrap late in the game. I have a feeling the fight was just the bottled up joy and emotion of getting his two goals and he felt the world was his oyster.
From top to bottom every guy played with swagger and edge; Caeden Carlise was a presence in the corners and every Flint forward will be looking over their shoulders tonight as the game was quite heated and there may be some spillover tonight.
Tye Anselmini who plays with an edge is going to have to be more disciplined especially going into the playoffs. He was constantly chirping and involved after the whistle and 8 penalty minutes in one game is only going to spell trouble.
On another note; the Hounds are going to be pleading their case as Kalvyn Watson possibly faces a suspension for a crosscheck to the face of a Flint player late in last nights contest. He was assessed a 5 minute major and I don’t believe he is allowed to suit up tonight because it automatically carries a one game suspension. The play in question after review in my opinion will not result in further discipline because although he did crosscheck the Flint player; it was a result of the Flint player being low to the ice.
Anyway, Kartye, Kerins, McKay, and McConnell-Barker got the other tallies for the Hounds.
Post game Coach Dean said he was going to rest “a” player tonight and I would put my money on it being O’Rourke. Ryan knows how to get up for a game and has played a lot of hockey this year including a brief stint with the World Juniors. One game off will not affect his performance coming out of the gate Thursday.
In net tonight your guess is as good as mine. Putting Tucker back between the pipes makes sense in his confidence and his play last night. The Hounds will tell you tonights game doesn’t mean much but we all know that is just camera talk. The Hounds want to win this game and extend that winning streak to 7 games. Windsor streak ended last night and currently the Hounds are the hottest team.
On another note; I inquired with Kyle Raftis yesterday about the status of Tanner Dickinson and if the Hounds manage to go a few rounds in we may see him on the ice…you never know. His response to my inquiry as to the possibilty of the Tanner Dickison returning to the lineup if the Hounds manage to go deep into the playoffs was that we’ll ” have to wait and see. Hasn’t started skating yet. Everything else is progressing well”
