Island Poll Results/Consumers Catalogue/Candidate Barry Elliott Will Be Speaking/

How Accurate Are the Poll Results?

It is hard to say how accurate the poll results so far are, but it does give an indication on the thoughts of the people that participated. With about 900 or so eligible voters in the Township, we will see what happens on October 24. How are polls effective? Well I would think that it helps in regards to people that vote and do not have much information on the candidates and vote possibly as per the consensus. I am not someone that agrees with that as I will vote for someone that has no chance in winning rather than not voting at all or voting for the lesser of two evils.

In no way am I insinuating that any of the three are evil lol. I have met them all and they have all left me with positive impressions of themselves on one level or another. Anyway, polls do help with maybe showing someone new to an area who is popular and although popular doesn’t mean that is who you should vote for; it does help them when they do a bit of their research (hopefully) before voting. Anyway, there has been a small percentage….but a decent percentage that have taken the poll and this is what it looks like as of today. Please take this poll linked right…………. HERE !!!

Christmas Shopping Was Better As A Kid Right???

Oh how I hate Christmas shopping these days. It is all about gift cards, or money. Since I can’t keep a secret my daughter and loved ones usually know months in advance what I am getting them. I long for the days where I could open up a WishBook from Sears or the famous Consumers Distributing catalogue and turn the pages not only looking for stuff I wanted, but for neat ideas for my loved ones. With the death of catalogues for the most part, we are left to online shopping which is a pain in the ass. One of the good things though is that if you are savvy and have the patience you can save 50% plus for the identical item just by searching for it for only HOURS lol. Anyway, I just came across one and it brought back memories. It is in the pics below and although there was nothing really shocking as per product, it was still nice to turn the pages and look….you know…..old school. We should start a petition to have these catalogues brought back !! Oh wait; it is gonna be challenging since Sears and Consumers have gone belly under. Anyway, on a lighter note….does anyone else remember the page number in Consumers where a female could order a “personal massager” ? I swear to God it was in there. I am sure many remember that also.

Haha.....You thought I was joking 🤣

Barry Elliott Addresses St. Joseph Township by VIDEO Link

Mayoral Candidate Barry Elliott has knocked on at least 500 doors during his campaign and you are probably one of them.

Some doors were not answered as you were not home so candidate Elliott made himself available at the Black Bear and most recently The Wharf to meet you and answer your questions. The turnout at The Wharf was really good according to the owners and Mrs. Elliott who I spoke with recently.

Anyway, since Mr. Wildman and Mrs. Henshell did a video address to you that I published here a while back it was only fair that I gave Mr. Elliott the same chance. After we worked out the issues with his internet we decided on a date and time for him to speak to the voters that he could not reach in person. Please check back tomorrow at noon on my FB page St Joseph Islander Review as he will be speaking. If you have not already; please join the page so you get up to date notice of my daily publication. Moving forward I will be also moving to print.
