HOUNDS COULD LOSE A LOT OF BLOOD
If the Greyhounds don’t ice a strong and healthy team and play their best 60 minutes of hockey they could lose a lot of blood in the scrap set for 7pm tonight. Their foe, the Ottawa 67’s, comes into town unblemished with a 7-0 record. Not only is the record flawless but they are doing it via all the right ways. They score an average of 5 goals a game and give up only 2.57. It is Halloween month and things couldn’t get much scarier for the Dogs.
If there are any good things about facing this stacked team, it’s the fact that Soo product Jack Matier will be in the lineup to help his team, and I am sure many friends and family will be in attendance. I know his Mom and Dad will be excited and I will be listening to the proud audio coming from Mark while watching the game on CHL tv.
Threats to watch for include Brady Stonehouse (6 Goals), Jack Beck ( 10 Assists), and Matier of course with 8 points. On another note, although goalie Max Donoso is one of the top goalies in the league with a GAA of 2.47, newly acquired Collin MacKenzie may get the start tonight considering the fact that the Hounds have trouble scoring goals, and also that Max played last night in North Bay. We’ll see who coach Dave Cameron goes with.
The Hounds need to keep up their steady defensive play of late and limit the turnovers. Up front the Hounds are going to need to shoot from all angles and bang their way to the net. Ottawa will not be giving up much open ice and empty lanes. For the Hounds to win they will have to play a blue collar game. McConnell Barker, Watson, D’Intino, and Mignosa have been playing well, but the Hounds need second year players like Cloutier and Hookey to step things up when they get on the ice..
I still consider rookie Andrew Gibson as being the Hounds most valuable player so far this year. As a defenseman he makes great plays, but the really eyebrow raising thing is that he is a scoring threat recording 6 points so far.
Go Hounds Go !

SIGN ME UP for the TOURISM COMMITTEE
Whoever gets the nod to represent the community for the next four years should make it a priority to establish a tourism committee. Obviously the area relies on the months of June until late September to pad the coffers to sustain themselves for the cold months in between.
This committee should not only be represented by local businesses who obviously have a huge vested interest, but it should have citizens on it like you and I.
I would definitely put my name in the hat because I feel I have a lot of experience regarding what outsiders and tourists want and need. As a person who has backpacked Mexico and Peru, there are things that I have seen that may not be as obvious to a local business owner. I also have dozens of all inclusive trips under my belt, and I have noticed on these trips….very simple things that cost little to no money to implement that make me happy, and thus…………spend more mone$. We also do not need to go very far to learn how to market; Petoskey, Gaylord, Charlevoix, and Traverse City are not too far from here and if you have been there you notice how drastically different the vibe and energy is there. Aside from TC, these communities have small population bases but somehow manage to turn profit during their tourism seasons.
Please do not take the above comments as a slight because they are not. Every day each of us try and improve ourselves spiritually etc.; the same goes for communities. If something can be done to only make a beautiful flower prettier…..then it should be done.

Fair Is Fair
I was asked yesterday where the video interview addresses were of the other candidates running for mayor of St. Joseph Township. I responded that they were live (on my channel) and public when the campaigning started in late August. They are currently set to private on my YouTube channel for the reason below.
I count on Subscribers to go to my YouTube channel to boost and increase its’ viewership and the channel was set up for music interviews. Without getting off topic too much, I have interviewed Randy Bachman, Colin James, Eric Martin (Mr. Big), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), and dozens more and the channel is slowly getting to the point of earning revenue from Google Ads, so obviously I do not want to lose subscribers or turn them away from my channel by posting political or other videos. I have posted the odd one here and there to test the waters such as my interview with Dallas Stars goalie and Saultite Marty Turco but I need to be strategic. After running the two candidate videos for three weeks each roughly they went to private.
Having said that, Barry Elliotts‘ video address is HERE !!!! and will be until the election is over on Monday. In fairness to him, I am giving him a few a couple days of exclusive viewing, as Katherine and Jody received. I will however make their addresses public once again Sunday morning @ Border City Rock Talk on YouTube.
I just thought I would clear this up.
