Hounds Lose But Swagger Shines

The Soo Greyhounds lost a hard fought 2-1 loss to the #9 ranked team in the whole country, the Ottawa 67’s, but Charlie (Swagger) Schenkel won another game………………in regards to him being drafted. This kid was on fire and made brilliant save after save and his shutout bid was stymied with just about 1 minute left in the game. Watching Charlie, you can see the confidence and poise he has; after making dynamic saves he taunts the failed shooter and struts his stuff ala Kramer in the Little Jerry (bobbing and weaving and strutting his stuff) episode. He also has a water bottle squirt superstition kind of ritual that he employees after big saves.

Going into OT tied 1-1, I knew the Hounds had a terrible record and I was just glad we would get at least a point. After Charlie keeping the boys in the game for the next five minutes we come to a shootout….Man this is the most exciting part of a hockey game.

It took about 30 breakaways before Gavin Ewles beat Swagger for the win. McConnell-Barker scored the lone goal for the Hounds and I thought Justin Cloutier played a good game registering 4 shots. Of note, Tyler Savard will return to action for the Hounds after serving his last game of suspension and if the coaching staff don’t tell scrappy Connor Clattenberg the OHL rules he will eventually be on the list of suspended players. The young buck got into his second fight already and the third results in a suspension I believe. It is good to be aggressive but I think he wants to stay in the lineup so much that he might end up sitting because of it.

The Hounds are off for about a week and start a 3 game road trip against Peterborough on Thursday.

This is your money people !! Adolph Trudeau is also refusing to disclose where the money went and it is pretty likely that once again some of his friends received financial benefit. I voted for this traitor years ago and I now realize what an anti democratic Canadian he is. If you have any comments below I would hope that they would be for his resignation.
