Of course the chances of beating a stacked Windsor Spitfire team were slim but the Hounds didn’t lose; they were never in the game losing 9-4 in front of the hometown faithful. With the loss on Friday against the Sarnia Sting the Hounds sit tied for the 8th and final playoff spot but to be more accurate I would say they are 9th as Kitchener has 3 games in hand.
We are two thirds of the way through the season so there is still hope that the kids can start winning. The Hounds do have some injuries right now and that is a factor.
I hear from a very reliable source that forward Owen Allard has been skating with the team in practice but with no body contact; that is good news and hopefully Owen can join the club in the next couple of weeks.
Moving forward the Hounds just have to keep competing and it just takes a 2 or 3 game win streak to be out of the red and into the black.
Next up the Hounds face their two most recent opponents starting Thursday in Windsor and Friday in Sarnia. Wouldn’t it be nice to upset the applecart; it’s junior hockey so you never know.
I have to say that I have not felt better for many decades in my life and this is 100% due to the fact that I have been getting 8 hours of sleep for 6 days straight. They say that successful people have a few common traits and one of them is proper sleep. I have lived off of 4 hours for many decades but the recent transition to 8 hours is mindboggling.
