Hounds Trip over Blue Line in Loss to Saginaw

Greyhounds Fail to Bury Chances

The Greyhounds failed to score when they had chances last night and some costly turnovers leave them 4 points behind the Kitchener Rangers.

After coming off of 3 good games where the Dogs took 5 of 6 points against good hockey clubs; this game against Saginaw should have resulted in a W. The Hounds went into the game winning 3 of 5 against the Spirit this season and things were looking good.

But it was not to be. The Hounds went 1-4 on the power play and 1-4 on the PK. There were some good shifts but the determination was not there like it was during their last game against the Sarnia Sting. One thing I liked was that the Hounds were shooting from all angles and hoping for rebounds and garbage goals. It was also an interesting night where the Hounds hit a couple posts and had wide open nets but failed to hit the target or the puck skipped off of there sticks.

Scoring for the Hounds were Justin Cloutier and Brenden Sirizzotti (2pts) and although not on the scoresheet; both Mark Duarte and Kirill Kudryavstev both played strong 60 minute hockey games.

The Hounds play the Rangers on Friday and Erie on Saturday.
