Schenkle Is What We Need But Someone Else Will Get HIm

Injury Riddled Hounds Limp Home

OUCHH  !  21 Goals given up in 3 games is not good at all. Now, to be fair the team is missing some key players due to injury such as Noel Nordh, Owen Allard, Chris Brown, Keegan Gillen, Andrew Gibson, and now Spencer Evans and Charlie Schenkle.………..(day to day)……………….but this is a team game and to surrender that many goals is not something Coach Dean would privately accept.

Of the 21 against there were 3 empty netters I believe, so we are down to 18. Of those 18 Charlie gave up 5 and Landon 13 in two games.

There appears to be a problem in the Hounds net and they had better get Miller rolling soon as we know he is a better goaltender than his play this year shows and they had better get Reid Thomas some OHL experience because Charlie Schenkle is being shopped around.

Charlie is second in the entire league with a save percentage of .923% and third with an average of 2.56 GAA………..and folks (Peter Ruicci terminology) ……folks that is on a very subpar hockey team who sit 12th in the league of 20 teams. They are exactly a .500 hockey club. So how good is Charlie Schenkle…….? Well that is how good he is.

We know Charlies days are numbered here in the Soo but we don’t know the hour or the day……but it is near in my opinion.

Now Charlie sat yesterdays game as per a reaggravated injury sustained in a practice.

Is it possible he could have played but didn’t want to damage the goods before sale and the team was being over cautious ? I think that might be possible for sure.

Now Miller has played good at times but Charlie has played great all the time and is one of the leagues best goalies.

What would the Hounds be asking for in the trade you may ask? I think the Hounds are in need of a grade A defenseman to help Miller to compose himself and play good consistently, and the Hounds need some on ice leadership.

When Kyle does pull the trigger you can be sure that not only will the Hounds acquire a couple of players to be inserted immediately into the lineup but some draft pics as well. As I said, the Hounds are very much injury riddled now so it is understandable at how much they are losing lately; but even when Allard is in the lineup they just don’t seem to have any chemistry. As much as I know Owen is a young man, I do feel he may be a bit overrated. Sure he got selected to the World Juniors and signed a pro contract but he doesn’t seem to play consistent game in and game out. Maybe he is finding it boring in the O but for whatever reason he is not impressing me this year in the 6 games he has suited up for.

Agree or disagree…………that is my opinion.
