3 Goals In 3 Games Means A Move Has to Be Made Now and Not After Christmas

We are almost at the halfway point in the season, and the Hounds are lucky to be in a playoff spot if the season were to end tomorrow. The Hounds sit 6th in the 8-team conference.

With a record of 13-15, 3-7 in their last 10 games and the division’s lowest offensive numbers with 76 goals in 28 games, the Hounds would be better off shipping Charlie Schenkle out now than later.

It would give the new kids and prospects a longer time to gel with their teammates.

The Hounds will lose Andrew Gibson for a good handful of games as he heads to the WJ training camp, and if he makes the cut and the team does well, he may not make it back to the Soo until a week into January.

I know the Hounds have been plagued by injuries of late, but the fact is that John Dean is riding Miller, and what is the point in Schenkle sitting on the bench on the recent road trip? ; and that shows who you are considering your go-to guy.

I know Dean is under pressure to get Miller ready for next season, as he will not have Schenkle to fall back on, and at the same time, his decisions might limit Charlie in the net so as to have him get injured before he is moved.

It is a complicated situation, for sure, but I think waiting too late might put the Hounds in the position of not making the playoffs, which is crucial to any franchise for the extra revenue.

The fact is the Hounds can’t score goals even with a full, healthy linueup and the powerplay has been brutal all year. 28 games is more than enough time to get out any wrinkles

Anyway, not much to report about the recent trip. Hounds lose 3-2 in Owen Sounds, 3-0 in Kitchener, and Landon Miller shuts out Saginaw 2-0 for their sole win.

Go Hounds Go!
