With the Hounds coming off a strong win on Saturday defeating Saginaw 5-2, the Hounds would appear to have the momentum. Saginaw was one of the most dominant teams during the last 6 weeks of regulation and the first 5 games of the playoffs but the Hounds watched video and adjusted their game.
The forcheck was relentless, the penalty kill was active and the kids were pretty disciplined.
Bryce McConnell-Barker in my opinion will not be given any kind of misconduct for the collision with Spirit netminder Andrew Oke as the replay shows BMB slowing down and trying to squeeze between him and the boards. I think Oke will be in net tonight and by keeping him out of the rest of the game Saturday.,…..well that may have been a ploy to try and sell the fate of BMB. At the time of the collision the Hounds were up 2-1, Saginaw was given a 5 minute power play and well….politics sometimes are not pretty.
If I am right and BMB is playing tonight….it would also be a bonus for Jack Beck to dress. It appears he will suit up either tonight or Wednesday but I hope it is tonight as the Hounds need the scoring touch. Jordan D’Intino played great the other night and you have also give credit Fantino and Justin DeZoete who doesn’t get on the scoreboard much but he is very valueable in his checking and defensive role.
I can’t wait for the puck to drop tonight and will report back Wednesday.
