Forward Tyler Savard has just been traded to Barrie for Draft pics. I feel this is the tip of the iceberg as Kitchener and Erie have made recent moves and the Hounds will not make the playoffs losing another scoring forward. My opinion as that another move will be made by Kyle Raftis in the coming hours or days.
Media Report “
Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis announced today that the club has acquired four Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection picks from the Barrie Colts in exchange for forward Tyler Savard.
The Greyhounds receive a 2nd Round Pick in 2024 (Flint’s), 3rd Round Pick in 2025 (Saginaw’s), 3rd Round Pick in 2026 (Kingston’s) and 4th Round Pick in the 2024 (London’s) OHL Priority Selections.
Savard, 19, was originally selected in the 11th Round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection by the Greyhounds.
In 79 career regular season games played, the Peterborough ON native has 18 goals and 40 assists (good for 58 points).
He recorded 6 points (3G, 3A) in 10 post-season games last year.
“Joining the organization as a late round pick, Tyler made great strides in his game and we thank him for all his efforts both on and off the ice. We wish him the best of luck in Barrie” stated Raftis.
The trade comes in advance of tomorrow’s (Wed. Jan 4) home game for the Hounds where they will play host to the Kitchener Rangers. Game time at the GFL Memorial Gardens is 7:07 PM.”
I will update soon.
