Playoffs are in the near distance.
The Hounds have been playing some up and down hockey for quite a while and thankfully for a great first half they are in a good position.
If the playoffs were to start tomorrow they would be playing Guelph who have given the Hounds a go during every game this year.
For the Hounds want to make a name for themselves post regular season they need to get some passion from all of the lines. All too often lately, the only excitement I see is when Brady Martin is on the ice. He works hard and should be on a line with Jack Beck or Gavin Hayes.
Yes I know that you have to spread the scoring around but with Jack or Gavin, they are naturally gifted and can pick up a point or two each night in a losing cause when teamed up with a kid like Martin who makes things exciting; he (Brady) could ignite a three point performance for his line-mates and a win.
I also think that the Hounds need to shoot more and go to the net; enough of the passing to make a tic tac toe play.
In net we are strong with Charlie and Miller.
Defensively the kids are good…not great so they have to work extra hard. This includes having the forwards play two ends of the ice to give the D some help.
If the Hounds want to prove they are a true contender, they need to win in good fashion tonight as Musty will be in the lineup and hey need to bust the London Knights streak of no regular time losses in 23 games. We did it once and don’t think London is not coming in remembering the last time.
