Mayorial Candidate Barry Elliott & 1$ Coffee Tomorrow/Greyhounds Need To Practice More/What’s With Peanut Allergies???

Grab Your $ 1 Coffee Tomorrow Between 10-1 pm at The Wharf

It is time to tell your friends by sharing this bulletin that tomorrow The Wharf will be serving you coffee for only a buck !!  What is the reason? Well it is just to get you in and out of the cold. While you are there you can ask Candidate for Mayor Barry Elliott anything you want. Barry is making himself available to address your concerns if the election puts him into power. From what I understand, this is not a vote for Barry and get a cheap coffee scam; it just happened they are coinciding so I thought to include the information. Anyway, please drop in and support local.

Hounds Record In Extra Innings Is Not Pretty Going Back to Last Season

Last year I was often mystified how such a talented group of kids could bury pucks in the net left right and center, but when they went three on three with more open ice they lose, on a basis that is hard to understand. Going back to the beginning of last season the Hounds have lost the most games in overtime than any other team. They have lost 9 games; 6 last year and 3 this year.

The stats do not tell how many they won in extra time, but I know and fans know that the ratio is not even close. They (League Stats Column) should consider adding this classification though.

Anyway, once again the Hounds played pretty good and after erasing a two goal deficit late in the game, fell flat and lost when the game wasn’t decided in regulation time. It is hard to put a finger on why this is what it is, but it may be the approach. Is the approach to play offence first, or defense first? ; Is it a matter of improper line matches? Your guess is as good as mine, but with the Hounds lack of scoring currently and the only chance to win is by strong defensive play; I would think that playing three on three will be a major part of practice this week….or so I would hope.

In a losing effort (4-3), Sammy Ivanov played very well, Andrew Gibson was a star out there and Bryce McConnell Barker (2G) is continuing to shoot the puck and show himself as a leader. Mark Duarte (1G) is turning into being a steal by Raftis as he was dynamite. Sparkplug Connor Clattenberg has been quiet lately in my opinion. We need his physical and on the edge play right now.

Derek Seguin Returning to the Soo in November

I saw Derek at Soo Blaster a few years ago and haven’t laughed so hard in years. I actually interviewed him on my YouTube channel a year ago and he is always on; laughed so hard !

Anyway, check out the video that helped turn this comedian into a celebrated CBC employee (The Debaters etc).
