Yesterday the Soo Greyhounds finished cleaning up the Owen Sound Attack with their sweep of the weekend series. The Dogs routed their opponents by a lopsided score of 6-1.
Scoring for the Hounds were Rory Kerins with 2 (4pts), Tanner Dickinson (2pts), Justin Coutier, Cole MacKay (2pts), and Tye Kartye. Also picking up assists were Ryan O’Rourke, Kirill Kudryavtsev, Conner Toms, and Bryce McConnell-Barker.
Soo native Nick Porco tallied for the Attack.
In net, John Dean played me again and inserted Sammy Ivanov who showed he deserved the start and played very well. I am starting to think that John is getting the kids to fight for the number one stop and senses that Tynan can play better even though he has played very well for the most part. Coming in Tucker was going to be the man, but the gloves are off and Sammy is going to make the most of his starts and he sure did weathering the early attack yesterday.
It was interesting to hear the roar of the fan audio being played when the Hounds scored. I have my political views and that is no secret. I said yesterday that I think it is degrading and appalling to have “pretend” fans in the arena. If you don’t know what I mean; check out a recent piece at S** 2day where there were 2 of the Hounds most loyal fans having their pictures draped over cardboard bodies of Hounds jerseys.
Anyway, as much as I hate the road society has agreed to go down, last nights noise may have contributed to the mood of the boys. It is scientifically proven that audio does affect behavior and mood, especially if it is given at a frequency of 528hz etc.
I am curious if last nights game had a white noise or crowd hum in the background during the play; if so, I think that it was a good idea and if not; maybe it is something to thing about for then next home game.
Next up the Hounds will play three games in three nights as they start a swing in Windsor on Thursday before heading to the free and liberated city of Flint Michigan where they face their foes Friday and Saturday nights in front of Real Live People ! **
** The last three home games at the Dort Financial Center in Flint have been postponed so I wouldn’t want to wager on these games happening or not. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.**
